Our cornerstone Husqvarna brand has a 335-year history of innovation and development, and the highest reputation for quality outdoor equipment globally. The New Zealand market is key to this – their Autotune electronically-controlled chainsaws were developed and tested in demanding New Zealand conditions. Business acquisitions have ensured that Husqvarna continues to improve the brand’s reputation.

Homeowners and commercial users’ demands drove Husqvarna’s X-Torq technology for low-emission, clean-running two-stroke engines which also power trimmers, brushcutters and other outdoor equipment in the Husqvarna range. As the first name in robotic mowers and a growing range of battery-powered domestic and professional products demonstrate a clear responsibility to the future and environment.

Other Husqvarna group brands include Flymo, Gardena, McCulloch and Weedeater, while brands such as Jonsered Poulan and Poulan Pro have been phased out.

The Rolls Royce and Bentley of the zero-turn mower world, Walker Mowers offer beautiful mowing and unparalleled durability. New Zealand is their largest market outside their native USA, and much of their product line has been specifically designed for New Zealand conditions. This results in a truly refined product, backed up with enthusiasm and great support.

Masport, Victa, Atom and Briggs & Stratton are other brands which have justifiably earned New Zealanders’ trust through generations of leading service.

Action Equipment has been around since the mid-1980s, when its first Husqvarna dealership was established in Tauranga. Successive owners have seen the business grow to its present four stores in Tauranga, Hamilton, Katikati and Te Puke.

One of those early owners is still with Action Equipment. Kevin Lloyd is now Group General Manager, and is very well known to most of our Bay of Plenty customers. A second store was opened in Katikati in 2008 to better serve customers north of the city. Action Equipment purchased the existing Husqvarna dealership in Hamilton in 2011, and key staff such as Alton Rodgers and Richard Davison are in great demand by our many customers in the Waikato. A fourth store opened in Te Puke in 2017, and continues to go from strength to strength.

Action Equipment now actively supports customers from the top of the Coromandel Peninsula to remote west coast Waikato farms, and throughout the Bay of Plenty. Our online presence means we can supply products and parts virtually anywhere in New Zealand – and sometimes beyond.

We regularly rejuvenate our product lines, adding Polaris ATVs and utility and recreational side-by-side offroad vehicles, heavy-duty Walker zero-turn mowers, versatile Canycom and Grillo all-terrain mowers, and several respected brands of lawnmowers and other handheld outdoor power equipment. More recently, Action Equipment has expanded into sales and service of electric motorcycles for on- and off-road use, from leading brands Surron and UBCO.

Under new ownership since the end of January 2017, Action Equipment continues to go from strength to strength, building on its reputation for “brands you can trust, and service you can rely on”. Our loyal customer base and the support and recognition of our suppliers are the foundation for the company’s vision for ongoing redevelopment and customer satisfaction.
